Herzchen-Smiley

English Summary

Become the best Horseperson (*g*) that you could be
(freely quoted the title after Ellen Keßler)

Gladur spielt mit dem Hula-Hoop Reifen
Spiiiielzeug!

Currently I have three teachers. The most important one is featuring prominently in the posts here. *g* Together, we learn from Nele and Ellen.
Ellen Keßler is our „riding“ instructor and teaches us groundwork, handwork and correct lunging with great sense for the overall condition of both horse and human (Body and mind are both accessed and the lesson made to fit the current status quo). (So does Nele, but I view her teachings more as having fun among friends and not as a classic teacher-student thing. Thereby not saying I wouldn’t learn anything!)

Both have in common that they wish for the horse to find enjoyment in the work together as well and not drilling lessons into the horse. Both aid me by giving me structures and techniques with which I can motivate and train Gladur.

Admittedly, he is not *always* happy when it gets exhausting, yet *g*, but he is working with great enthusiasm with me for weeks and weeks indoors now, as the weather doesn’t allow for fun outdoors very often. And yet he is still motivated and eager to please. Work and play take turns as usual, so he keeps up the good mood.

And the very best thing is, that he seems to be years younger now. And when he dances at your hand, because he knows what comes next and really wishes to show how well he can do this already, then this is one of the most rewarding and touching experiences one can have with horses. And if he notices that I am proud of him and think he is beautiful as he strutts his stuff or overdoes his task, then he seems to be growing visibly taller, too.

Ellen has summed up the little things that are really big things together with the horse in a great text on her facebook page. It is in German, if you wish to read, klick the second link in the German text above.
I feel so, so blessed and happy that I found people, teachers, who view the „togetherness“ with the horse just as I do and who help both him and me to grow. Herzchen-Smiley
