• drizzt - radioplay

    >Oooh yes!

    >I am never so much a person for radioplay or even audiobooks (yes, I should be ashamed, concerning where I work, LOL!!) but I think I am going to make a big exception for this:
Drizzt Hoerspiel- photo of the box
A German Studio (klick) has turned adaptions of the Drizzt Do’Urden saga into radioplays and I have just listened to the first and I like what I hear.
It does not erase the images in your mind, instead it helps them return. And even if not all the voices match your orginal idea of them, none is so out of place that you are putt off by it.

How I found these? One of the narrators is new at our studio at work and when I googled him, this was coming up (amongst other things). Another of our current narrators is also reading and so I got curious. And it was worth it. I am looking forward to hear the other two. If they are as nice, I am going to get the rest bit by bit, too.
The coverart in the jewel cases is also very nice and reminding me of the Elric comics, concerning their style.

  • indoors - plants

    >A nice little trip to town

    >…resulted in a nice deal and more plants. o.O Honest, I really get flooded with those now,LOL!!

Yesterday, I saved this plant at the shop where I get food, it did look not at the right place there…
It was identified as Zamioculcas zamiifolia a plant from Afrika which gets called „Zamie“ by its German owners thanks to the unspeakable name.
    Photobucket
Für Mami – hier ist info zu der Pflanze: Zimmerpflanzenlexikon
It seems to be a tough one which lives in hostile surroundings orginally, so the only mistake one can make is too much water which is hardly going to happen. *cough*

And then today I trundled over the country fair after being at the post office and snuffled for some autumny decoration and did so also in the shops.
    At Blume 2000 I looked at the autumn deko but was not convinced buying the tealights Mum mentioned, I have so many of these already. I found an Ivy there which I wanted originally for work, but now I like it so much that it will live in the kitchen for now. ^==^:;
At the till, I told the sales lady the story of the Chrysantemums, with the one I paid nothing for surviving and the other two dying on me. She laughed herself silly and then gave me this Chlorophytum (Grünlilie) for compensation, even if I had not asked for anything, I just wanted to share the story, LOL!!
    gruenlilie
And lo, suddenly two plants in one day.

On I trundled with my plants to snuffle at interior decoration shops. It turned out that one of them had a discount day today and so I got two very pretty window-tealight-holders for the price of one. (Piccies does not do justice)
    sparkly

And this little windmill, I got when paying, too:
    windmill

What a nice outing this was! ==^==^== Now I have no light places left for indoor plants, so no worries I could vanish in a jungle in here.

  • indoors - plants

    >Plants, mostly indoors

    >…for a change.

A new pot for this one:
    new pot
(Please ignore the cobweb, I had not seen those before the pic, now it’s removed. Seems like I need to take photographs of all corners regularily, LOL!!)

The crown of thorns has outgrown its pot-size so fast that it already needed the next size now (which will have to last it longer now). I had no decorative pot in that size to fit, so I had to steal the outdoor pot from my dalia to give it anything to sit in. Will be looking for something more fitting.
    huge pot

All that pot-rotation gave my little Money Plant a very stylish new home:
    noble pot

New plant in the kitchen- yes it is the same species as the alien on the closet- this is what these look like if they grow up more ideal than mine.
    new kitchen plant

Not a new plant, but ever so pretty and red- and the water looked nice on it, too:

Plant, too, kinda sorta- super huge potatoes!

  • balcony - flowers - plants

    >Autumn approaches…

    >… and on my balcony, too. Today it was sunny but cool weather, ideal to do gardening and maintenance work on the balcony. So I got some plants to replace those who did not survive the tons of rain after the heatperiod. Also my Bornholm Marguerites were no longer truly fit, having spent themselves with their many blossoms.
So on my balcony reside now the following plants:
In the corner with the kitchen window are the heather that now replaces the marguerites and my hydrangea:
    hydrangea and heather

Closeup of a blossom of the hydrangea:
    hydrangea autumny
All those are winter hardy and should return to life after the oncoming cold season.

Since the marigolds died, I put a flower pot with one Chrysantenum left and right my still lively third flowerbox:
    red chrysantemum
(I had planned to have several of these in the flower boxes, but the first two already died on me…this is not my type of plant. Ironically, it was those I paid full for. The ragged red one that the flower-lady did not want any money for because it looked so desolate has not only survived, but also recovered, LOL!!)

    And the other window:
    dahlia and little ones
The dalia seems to like it there. The little plants next to it apparently, too.

  • nonsense - quizzes

    >I unearthed some links…

    >…and found the ever funny thesurrealist.co.uk again…

Do I have cause to worry now?

Doctor Unheimlich has diagnosed me with
    Ailanreanter’s Syndrome
    Cause: zombie attack
Symptoms: extreme hydrophobia, knee pain, steam whistling from ears
    Cure: don’t do it again
Enter your name, for your own diagnosis:

And I am very surely trying to avoid it in the future… *snortgiggle*

  • decorations - dragons - lizards - plants

    >Flowers and lizards

    >Today I got some replacements for my drowned marigolds.
Into the the flowerbox I sat three Chrysanthema which have all their blossoms closed, still, so piccies have to wait some. (Am curious how much longer the other marigolds will last, they start to look sorry also..)
And since my Cosmea also hated the wet weather, since it rapidly shriveled up, I found a lovely replacement for it today.
A dahlia, in original a bit more orange than pinkish as it looks on this picture:

Got a most lovely surprise pressie from my parents today:

I wonder if the butterfly is still there tomorrow morning. *g*

A closeup which still does not show all the pretty gleam on the scales:

This lovely lizard promptly inspired me to repaint one of my resin dragons, which was an uninspired blotchy silver all over before.
Here he is with first paintlayers, some detailings will follow- this little guy can also be wall mounted and will keep the lizard company in furture. (They’re almost the same size)

The come in many colours and I want some for next year again, so much is already for certain.

The hydrangea looks like this- there are tiny pink sprinkles all over the blossoms that slowly turn greenish. It looks as if someone has sprayed some fruitjuice on it:
    hydrangea autumny

Two tiny lavender seedlings which I pulled from between the stones with the roots intact- so I thought, I am trying to cultivate those now.

Is it just me or do those Medieval groups all look the same? Anyhow, right in the middle of their show, the power supply broke down (= der Hamster ist verrecket) and they had to play on unplugged. I found this pretty disappointing that power was even needed to play on such a small event- those instruments are so loud all by themselves, they should have done without amplifiers from the start…

Thankfully the drains did manage it all, if slowly, especially after a little help (poking), so the flood has now gone.
I could bet that some cellars are flooded here in the area now, the firefighters are rushing out very busily.

  • kitchen window - window blind

    >Mission "kitchen blind" accomplished

    >Today I cycled to the home supply store, the weather was wonderful, not too hot, yet and then inspected some of their spray laquers before looking for a nice blind for my kitchenwindow. I found one, it is even with an insulation backside, keeping out the heat and light.

  • firefly - nom nom - Sweden food

    >Nom, nom, nom…

    >..no flowers, but food. And a weird little thing, LOL!!

Today I was at Ikea and being there around midday, I logically became hungry snuffled into the foodstore (as if I wouldn’t have anyway..). There I came across these innocent looking packages which they did not have before and the combination of gingerbread and orange sounded nice.
I have now tried them and count myself hopelessly addicted, Ikea is an evil place, LOL!! This is is the dangerously tasty stuff in question:
    pfefferkuchen im sommer

Yeah and Firefly grew up and we are all kinda speachless – apparently Firefly as well, judging the way it seems to look shocked by itself, LOL!!
Such a pity, it started so cute as a foal…

I am sure though, that one can make this one pretty decent looking when mildening the colours some… Will draw he/she/it (am not decided)and do so…

(Today I went to the market booth where I got it and thanked the seller for having such excellent plants. He was so very happy indeed.)

And the new plants in the flowerbox where the maguerites were- it is either a bad year for those or they simply don’t like me, LOL!!

    and one „Verbena“:

    Both come in many colours.

    And then this one wanted to come, too, LOL!! I know, I have complained about these looking like mutant Equisetum (horse tail/ Schachtelhalm) before and now suddenly have one and then it is even not white but rather urple… I know, I know… But sometimes you can fall in love on second glance with flowers, too. ^==^;;;

  • heat - summer - survival

    >Hoooooot….weather…

    >How to survive the heat? We have 37C in the shade outside around midday here. And in my appartment (which is on topfloor) I have now permanently 30C, wheeew…
These two things help to keep me sane:
    fan with dishrag
for keeping the air moving and a bit less dry.

    And
    bowl of water
to cool the feet very nicely from time to time.

The heat has ONE good thing afterall, though- it subdues the football (Soccer) fans! There is not half as much noise as it was last time.
Speaking of which, I begin to notice a pattern, here- whenever I wish Germany would loose, they win and do so with lots of goals. When I don’t care or even want them to win they play badly or even lose.
Sooo, everybody wanting them to win that whole thing? How about bribing me to think bad thoughts about loosing at them, then? *giggles*

  • balcony - hydrangea - plants

    >And even more fluffiness

    >… now I know why this variety is called „snowball“!

    hydrangea 04

Bottlefeeding it during the day did not only save its life, it did also speed the blossoming process some.

Also found a „new“ spider-species in the flowers- while the balcony(and from time to time my kitchen) is haunted by tiger-striped jumping spiders (cause they can squeeze in through any opening on the window…), there was one that was almost translucent, but striped also and very small, about 0,5cm. Never seen those before, maybe I will find an image on the web…
